WAYS YOU CAN IMPROVE AIRFLOW IN YOUR HOME
Many factors can affect the flow of air through your HVAC system. Without proper airflow, you will find it difficult to be cool and comfortable in your home, during the hot summer months. The following are three ways you can improve airflow and indoor comfort this summer.
CLEAN YOUR REGISTERS AND VENTS
When the vacuum registers and air vents in your home get clogged with dust, dirt, and debris, the HVAC system can’t process air as easily. This might lead to uneven cooling, an overheated HVAC unit, and other problems. These effects could damage your system and lead to expensive repairs.
Many of these problems can be identified during routine maintenance inspections, so it is important to schedule annual preventive maintenance checks.
MOVE FURNITURE
If your furniture sits in front of or over vents and registers, your HVAC system won’t distribute conditioned air evenly. Try moving your furniture so that there is no restriction of airflow. Leave a few feet of clearance around air vents and registers. For wall vents, don’t let artwork or other wall hangings obstruct airflow.
